May 10, 2022Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader™ empowering innovation, is excited to celebrate the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team after another second-place finish in the GTD PRO class. Mouser proudly sponsors the team and will be cheering them on at the Lexus Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio on May 15.

The team will be looking to carry some good momentum into fifth race of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season after a string of podium finishes. Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat piloted the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 to a second-place finish in GTD PRO Class at both the Monterey Sports Car Championship and Long Beach Grand Prix, while Frankie Montecalvo and Aaron Telitz in the No. 12 car finished third in the GTD Class at Long Beach.

Mouser is teaming up with Molex LLC to sponsor both the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan-Lexus RC F GT3 GTD PRO Class and the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan-Lexus RC F GT3 GTD Class entries for the 2022 season. Team drivers for the season include Hawksworth, Barnicoat, and Kyle Kirkwood in the No. 14 car and Montecalvo, Telitz, Townsend Bell, and Richard Heistand in the No. 12 car.

This will be a special weekend for the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing family as Lexus recently announced that it will be the title sponsor of the race. The Lexus team has seen great success at Mid-Ohio over the years, winning three straight races from 2018 to 2020 and securing a second-place finish last year.

The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course located in Lexington, Ohio. The May 13-15 weekend will consist of practice, qualifying, and ultimately the 2-hour, 40-minute race where the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team looks to continue their success.

Mouser previously sponsored the Vasser Sullivan IndyCar team, seeing the opportunity as an inventive way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies; since then, the Mouser and Molex relationship with Vasser Sullivan has bred success, having won the Indianapolis 500 and producing multiple wins and podiums with Vasser Sullivan IndyCar.

After Mid-Ohio, the series heads to Detroit for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Presented by Lear, followed by five more races before the finale at Motul Petit Le Mans on October 1 in Atlanta.
