September 9, 2024—Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor of the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now stocking the new ISP3080 ultra-wideband (UWB) Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) module from Insight SiP. The ISP3080 is a highly miniaturized module that is a perfect stand-alone ranging solution for consumer, industrial and medical real-time location systems (RTLS), access control, and indoor positioning applications.

The Insight SiP ISP3080 UWB Bluetooth LE module, available from Mouser, combines a Qorvo QM33110 UWB transceiver and a Nordic Semiconductor nRF52833 multi-protocol chip to create a 2.4 GHz wireless system on chip (SoC), integrating a 32-bit Arm® Cortex® M4 CPU, 512 kB flash memory and 128 kB RAM, together with BLE and dual-band (5 and 9) UWB antennas, to offer global coverage in a single device. Despite its small size (12 x 12 x 1.5 mm), the module integrates decoupling capacitors (38.4 MHz crystal for UWB, 32 MHz and 32.768kHz crystals for BLE), DC-DC converters, RF matching circuits and two antennas in addition to the wireless SoCs. Low power consumption and advanced power management enable battery lifetimes of up to several months on a single coin-cell battery.

Mouser also offers the Insight ISP3080 development boards, which can be used as stand-alone PCBs or included in an evaluation kit. These boards provide a full hardware and software development environment for the ISP3080 module.
