Mouser-Sponsored Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing Team Revs-up for IMSA Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway (VIR)
August 20, 2024—Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor of the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is excited to cheer on the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team as they return to racing action at the IMSA Michelin GT Challenge at the Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, VA, on August 25.
The VIR circuit is 3.27 mi (5.263 km) in length with 17 turns. Originally built in 1957, it was one of the longest permanent racetracks of its time and presents a considerable challenge to drivers. Hugging the contours of the land, it features two long, straight, high-speed sections, as well as sweeping corners over blind crests and a signature hairpin bend around a historic oak tree.
The 2024 season marks the sixth season Lexus and Vasser Sullivan have partnered together. The full-time driver lineups for Vasser Sullivan Racing include Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 in the GTD PRO class, with Parker Thompson and Frankie Montecalvo co-driving the No. 12 Lexus entry in the GTD class. Kyle Kirkwood and Aaron Telitz join the driver pairs in the No. 14 and 12 cars for select IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship endurance races this season. The Vasser Sullivan team is currently in third place in the GTD PRO class standings with 2,083 points and fifth place in the GTD class with 1,677 points.
Mouser and valued manufacturer partner Molex co-sponsor the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team, seeing the opportunity as an inventive way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies.
