Texas Instruments DAC874xH Modems With UART Interface offer flexible choices for compatibility with HART®, FOUNDATION Fieldbus™, and PROFIBUS PA communication systems. HART mode integrates all required circuitry to operate as half-duplex HART physical layer modems. This integration is achieved in either slave or master configurations with minimal external components for filtering. The FOUNDATION Fieldbus mode operates as a half-duplex FOUNDATION Fieldbus compatible H1 Controllers and MAUs with all required circuitry integrated. The digital UART interface or integrated FIFO accessed by an SPI interface transfers the HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, or PROFIBUS PA data stream from the microcontroller. A Do pin is included in the SPI interface for daisy-chain support, various interrupts, and other features.
