Microchip Technology MCP20xx LIN Transceivers

Microchip Technology MCP20xx LIN transceivers satisfy the stringent requirements of automotive manufacturers worldwide. The Microchip Technology MCP20xx AEC-Q100-certified devices are LIN 1.3, 2.0, 2.1 and SAE J2602 compliant and feature industry-leading ESD and EMC performance for reliable communication in extremely harsh environments. These Microchip Technology LIN transceivers boast current consumption ratings that are among the lowest in the LIN transceiver market, allowing for extended battery life and more efficient non-ignition-switched applications. The product line's EMC performance results in more robust designs that are less susceptible to system faults.

The MCP2021A, MCP2022A, MCP2025 and MCP2050 LIN System Basis Chips (SBCs) include high integration options, such as a voltage regulator, windowed watchdog timer, battery monitor output, and a MCU.

These devices feature high robustness, including high Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) levels of more than 15kV on the LIN bus and battery-voltage pins, meeting or exceeding automotive manufacturer requirements including Version 1.3 of the OEM Hardware Requirements for LIN, CAN and FlexRay Interfaces in Automotive Applications. The voltage regulator integrated on some of these devices is specifically designed to operate in the automotive environment, and can withstand reverse battery conditions, +43V load dump transients and double-battery jump starts.
