Advantech’s Rugged MIO-5271 SBCs Using 4th Generation Intel Cores Now at Mouser
November 20, 2014 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the MIO‑5271 Compact Single Board Computer (SBC) from Advantech. The MIO‑5271 is a fanless 3.5‑inch SBC that uses an optimized thermal design based on 4th generation Intel® cores. Advantech SBCs support Multiple I/O (MIO) and networking options as well as high resolution audio and HD video. These SBCs target industrial computing applications and are especially suited for harsh environments.
The Advantech MIO‑5271 Compact Single Board Computers, available from Mouser Electronics, give developers a choice of either a 1.9GHz Intel Core i5‑4300U or a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron 2980U. This allows the MIO‑5271 SBC to deliver the appropriate computational performance while also providing energy efficient behavior for targeted applications. The Advantech MIO‑5271 SBCs support up to 8GBytes of DDR3L DRAM in a single 204-pin SODIMM slot. Two SATA ports are available for hard drive expansion. A user switch allows configuration for either one mSATA port or one miniPCI port. Typical power consumption is about 4.6 Watts.
The MIO‑5271 SBC supports many networking and connectivity options which include two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, two Industrial Gigabit Ethernet ports, and up to up to four RS‑232/422/485 ports with ESD protection. A Realtek ALC888S, High Definition Audio codec is supported with Line-in, Line out, and Mic-in connectors. Multiple video‑out options are available including a VGA port and an HDMI/DisplayPort connector.
Advantech 3.5" MI/O-Compact SBCs target wide temperature applications and can operate in 0 to 60°C (0 to 140°F) environments. Advantech's built-in iManager is an intelligent self-monitoring agent with software and hardware control functions including intelligent resource control, system protection and restore, and automatic system bootup and/or recovery in critical conditions.
