These devices are also suitable for current control in common household appliances, humidifiers, dryers of all kinds, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners. In a conventional NTC thermistor, the resistance decreases when the temperature increases, but for the Murata PTC thermistors, the resistance rises sharply when their temperature exceeds a specific temperature.
