Mouser Now Offering Texas Instruments’ AMC1301 Reinforced Isolated Amplifier

June 30, 2016 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now offering the AMC1301 reinforced isolated amplifier from Texas Instruments (TI). The AMC1301 is the industry's first reinforced isolated amplifier to withstand isolation working breakdown voltage of 1,000 VRMS for a minimum insulation barrier lifetime of 40 years.

TI's AMC1301 isolated amplifier, now available from Mouser Electronics, is a highly reliable isolated amplifier with lower power consumption, higher DC accuracy, and improved overall power efficiency compared to similar devices. The amplifier features a low offset drift of 3µV/C over a wide temperature range of -40 to +125 degrees Celsius. The AMC1301 provides 65 percent less high-side-supply current and 45 percent less low-side-supply current than similar devices, improving overall power efficiency, simplifying power supply design, and reducing thermal drift issues for a more efficient system design and improved performance. The amplifier offers high precision with a maximum non-linearity of 0.03 percent and very low gain drift of 50 ppm/degree Celsius.

Mouser is also stocking the TI AMC1301EVM, a full-featured evaluation board for the AMC1301. The AMC1301EVM evaluation module includes four screw terminals for easy access to the amplifier's analog inputs and outputs, and features a fixed gain of 8.2 and ±250-mV input voltage range optimized for current measurement using shunt resistors. The AMC1301EVM provides a reference solution for measuring isolated current using a shunt resistor and the AMC130 amplifier, delivering a highly accurate solution for shunt-based current sensing in high-voltage applications such as industrial motor drives, solar inverters, battery management systems, and uninterruptible power supplies.
