ABLIC S-8565A Step-Down Switching Regulator

ABLIC S-8565A Step-Down Switching Regulator is developed using a high-withstand-voltage CMOS process technology. This regulator IC includes a built-in spread-spectrum clock-generation circuit that reduces conducted and radiated noise during PWM operation. The S-8565A regulator offers a high maximum operation voltage of 36V and maintains a high-accuracy FB pin voltage at ±1%. This IC features a 4V to 36V input voltage range, 2.5V to 12V output voltage range (externally set), 2.2MHz typical oscillation frequency, and 1A output current. The S-8565A regulator operates at -40°C to +105°C temperature range and is lead-free (Sn 100%) and halogen-free.

The S-8565A regulator offers PWM/PFM switching control options, operates with PWM control under heavy load, and automatically switches to PFM control under light load. This IC incorporates a built-in synchronous circuit, which achieves higher efficiency more easily than conventional step-down switching regulators. Typical applications include a constant-voltage power supply for industrial equipment and home appliances.
