Vector control makes optimal use of motor energy by allowing reduction of energy required for acceleration, in addition to adjusting operating point to maximum efficiency. The feature-rich Z8 Encore! MCU product family include 8-channel 2.5µs A/D converter that allows accurate current sampling, soft start feature and advanced analog motor control features to keep the system's audible noise low, op-amp with external gain settings for current amplification and phase current reconstruction, and comparator with programmable shutdown for over-current protection. The Z8 Encore! MC™ motor control family is supported by a comprehensive development kit that contains ZiLOG's ZDS II IDE with a full ANSI C compiler.  Applications that utilize Z8 Encore!
