AVR-M Chip Varistors

TDK AVR-M Chip Varistors have no polarity, due to symmetrical current-voltage characteristics that are equivalent to Zener diodes. The AVR-M Varistors offer exceptional electrostatic absorption capability and are able to maintain symmetrical current-voltage characteristics even after electrostatic absorption. A wide 6.8V to 90V range of voltages are available with capacitances as low as 1.1pF.

TDK’s wide array of products, including MLCCs, inductors, ferrite beads, and more, utilizes specialized materials and unique structural designs. These materials and designs offer high performance and reliability under the most severe usage conditions and in the harsh environments found in automotive applications.

Audio Filters, Inductors, Chip Beads, & Varistors

TDK Audio Filters, Inductors, Chip Beads, and Varistors are specifically designed to minimize distortion in audio lines while effectively suppressing noise. TDK Audio components include MAF and VAF noise suppression filters, VLS-AF inductors, MPZ-H chip beads, and AVR-M chip varistors. The MAF and VAF filters are manufactured using a proprietary low-distortion ferrite material to ensure high sound quality while effectively suppressing radiated noise. These filters can be used in conjunction with the MPZ-H chip beads and AVR-M chip varistors to effectively suppress noise and protect against ESD. 

Automotive Circuit Protection

TDK’s portfolio of automotive circuit protection devices includes AVR series chip varistors for voltage protection and NTC thermistors for temperature protection. AVR varistors protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD), voltage surges in power supplies from lightning, and systems for power generation and distribution. These products are also used in the highly-sensitive electronics in vehicles, household appliances, PCs, and notebook computers. NTC thermistors protect internal circuits or devices from overheating by acting as temperature sensors in monitoring systems. TDK has reduced the size of NTC products by applying the same multilayer technology developed for multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs).
