KEMET Suzhou Plant has evaluated and qualified the new black
epoxy material setting and will start the conversion from yellow
to black. This conversion allows KEMET to be consistent and
standardize with industry and minimize the future risk of
potential raw material cost escalation/availability related to
usage of yellow epoxy in specialized industries.

This change is planned for implementation to begin 1st week,
February 2014. Both yellow and black epoxy material will be
shipped until all finished goods inventory of yellow material is
depleted. No changes in the part number will be implemented.

MLCC Replacement Solutions

KEMET KOCAP Tantalum Polymer Capacitors are ideal for board space savings, a piezo noise-free environment, high capacitance, long stable life performance, and/or lower profile requirements. Tantalum polymer capacitors are selected over other capacitor technologies when application voltages are less than 50V, capacitance needs are between 1µF to 1mF, and application frequencies are below 1MHz. Since replacing ceramic capacitors with tantalum polymer capacitors is not typically one-for-one, designers need to consider several design requirements as outlined in the schematic below.

Polymer Capacitors Industrial Segment

KEMET Organic Capacitors (KO-CAP®) offer higher voltages in smaller case sizes and are ideal for industrial applications. These capacitors deliver a solution for applications requiring power-loss protection or maximum power efficiency of a circuit when board space is limited. The polymer technology provides these capacitors with extended life capabilities in applications subject to extremely harsh environments. 

T525 Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors

KEMET T525 Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors are high-temperature (-55°C to +125°C) capacitors with extremely stable ESR at +125°C. Using Polymer Cathode Technology, the T252 Series offers high-frequency capacitance retention (capacitance range of 33µF to 680µF), non-ignition failure mode, 100% accelerated steady-state aging, and a self-healing mechanism. Other features of the KEMET T525 Series Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors include a rated voltage of 2.5V to 16V, EIA standard case sizes, and RoHS compliance.

Group Switch Tank Converter Products

YAGEO Group (KEMET, YAGEO, Pulse) Switch Tank Converter (STC) Products are high-efficiency, high-density converters designed for non-isolated DC-DC applications. These devices operate by replacing the large magnetics typically used in converter designs with stacking voltages using switches and capacitors.
