KEMET Transportation Solutions feature automotive components that are designed with safer failure mechanisms and are industry standard qualified, including AEC-Q200 and VW AUDI 80808. These solutions have been proven on the road and in the KEMET lab, enabling safer, more efficient, and smarter vehicles. KEMET offers a wide range of products for the automotive industry, and these transportation solutions are verified to work under harsh temperatures ranging from -50°C to +175°C.

Group Power Conversion Components

YAGEO Group (YAGEO, Pulse, KEMET) designs passive component technologies that are critical in power conversion systems, including safety, snubber, and DC link capacitors; current sense and power resistors; and magnetic components such as transformers, common mode chokes, and inductors. Because every electronic device requires power, a vast majority of these products utilize a form of power conversion or power supply to deliver the required energy. 

High Voltage X7R Dielectric SMD MLCCs

KEMET High Voltage X7R Dielectric SMD MLCCs feature a voltage range of 500VDC to 3000VDC with a +125°C maximum operating temperature. These MLCCs are considered "temperature stable" and rated Class II materials by the EIA. Class II components are fixed, ceramic dielectric capacitors suited for bypass and decoupling applications or frequency-discriminating circuits where Q and stability of capacitance characteristics are not critical. KEMET High Voltage X7R Dielectric SMD MLCCs present a predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage and a minimal change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. Other features include low ESR and ESL, low leakage current, Pb-free and RoHS compliance, multiple case sizes, and more.

High Voltage Flexible Mitigation MLCCs

KEMET High Voltage Flexible Mitigation MLCCs include flexible termination (FT-CAP) technology and are designed to reduce the risk of flex cracks. These solutions offer a 500VDC to 10,000VDC voltage range and include products that are ideal for commercial and automotive applications.

Flexible Termination MLCCs

KEMET Flexible Termination technology is utilized in several series of surface-mount Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors (MLCCs). These capacitors were developed to address flex cracks, the industry's primary failure mode for MLCCs. The Flexible termination directs circuit board stress away from the ceramic body and into the termination area. These MLCCs reduce the risk of mechanical damage to the component that can result in low IR and short circuit failures.

Commercial & Automotive SMD High-Voltage MLCCs

KEMET Commercial and Automotive SMD High-Voltage MLCCs (Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors) feature proprietary technologies ArcShield, KPS, and KC-LINK. These capacitors are available in EIA case sizes ranging from 0402 to 4540 and DC voltage ratings up to 10000V. KEMET Commercial and Automotive SMD High-Voltage MLCCs cover capacitance ranges from 0.5pF to 560nF with an operating temperature of -55°C to +125°C. Ideal applications include commercial, automotive, and industrial.

Automotive-Grade MLCCs

KEMET Automotive-Grade Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors (MLCCs) are suited for a variety of applications that require reliable operation. These surface-mount MLCCs undergo a strict testing protocol and inspection criteria, making them suitable for harsh environmental conditions. The automotive-grade capacitors have a maximum operating temperature of 150°C. These MLCCs meet AEC-Q200 requirements and are manufactured in state-of-the-art ISO/TS 16949:2002-certified facilities.

High-Voltage ≥500V Capacitors

KEMET High-Voltage ≥500V Capacitors are offered in a variety of form factors, case sizes, dielectrics, and capacitance values. These devices feature MLCC EIA case sizes from 0603 to 6560 and voltage ratings from 500VDC to 10,000VDC. KEMET High-Voltage Capacitors are ideal for commercial, automotive, and industrial applications.

Commercial & Automotive Flex Mitigation MLCCs

KEMET Commercial and Automotive Flex Mitigation MLCCs are designed to reduce the risk of flex cracks. Flexible Termination (FT-CAP) multilayer ceramic capacitors incorporate a unique, flexible termination system that is integrated with the KEMET standard termination materials. Conductive silver epoxy is utilized between the base metal and nickel barrier layers of the KEMET standard termination system in order to establish pliability while maintaining terminal strength, solderability, and electrical performance.
