Comm & Automotive KPS High Temp 150°C SMD MLCCs

KEMET Commercial and Automotive Grade High-Temperature (+150°C) Surface-Mount MLCCs offer a variety of dielectrics, case sizes, voltages, and capacitance values, providing solutions for general-purpose or automotive applications. These MLCCs are available in X8L and X8L dielectrics with capacitance values up to 10µF and case sizes ranging from EIA 0402 to 2220. With an Sn termination finish, these KEMET capacitors are lead (Pb) free, and RoHS and REACH compliant without exemption.

High CV Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs)

KEMET High CV Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) are a preferred capacitance solution, offering tremendous performance, reliability, and cost advantages for circuit designers. Ceramics are non-polar devices that offer unsurpassed volumetric efficiency, delivering high capacitance in small package sizes. Available in a wide range of sizes, KEMET High CV MLCCs offer very low equivalent series resistance (ESR), exhibit excellent high-frequency characteristics, and are very reliable. MLCCs are monolithic devices that consist of laminated layers of specially formulated ceramic dielectric materials interspersed with a metal electrode system. The layered formation is then fired at a high temperature to produce a sintered and volumetrically efficient capacitance device. A conductive termination barrier system is integrated into the exposed ends of the chip to complete the connection. 

High Temperature ≥150°C Capacitors

KEMET High Temperature (≥150°C) Capacitors are available in a wide variety of form factors, dielectrics, case sizes, and capacitance values for commercial, automotive, and industrial applications. These high-temperature ceramic solutions go up to +260°C. KEMET’s high-temperature platform includes surface-mount and leaded options, which can also have flex termination and high voltage features to provide a solution for every application type.

Ultra Stable X8R & X8L +150°C Ceramic Capacitors

KEMET Ultra Stable X8R and X8L +150°C Ceramic Capacitors are high-temperature surface mount capacitors that are ideal in harsh environments such as Down Hole (oil exploration), automotive (under the hood), and aerospace. The KEMET X8L capacitors are available in case sizes EIA 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1210 while providing greater protection and superior flex performance over standard termination systems. The Ultra Stable X8R +150°C Dielectric Capacitors exhibit no capacitance loss when DC voltage is applied and is available in case sizes EIA 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, and 1812. Product applications include harsh environments such as Down Hole (Oil Exploration), Automotive (Under Hood), Military, and Aerospace.

KEMET X8L Series High-Temperature Capacitors - EXPANSION

KEMET has expanded the X8L series 150ºC high-temperature capacitors to include the new flexible termination option on all EIA case sizes except 0402. Flexible Termination technology directs board flex stress away from the ceramic body and into the termination area, resulting in lower risk of flex cracks that can lead to low IR or short circuit failures.

The KEMET X8L and Ultra Stable X8R 150C Dielectrics are high temperature ceramic surface mount capacitors that are ideal in harsh environments such as Down Hole (oil exploration), automotive (under hood), and aerospace. The KEMET X8L 150°C Dielectric operates from -55°C to +150°C with capacitance shift limited to ±15% from -55°C to 125°C and +15, -40% from 125°C to 150°C. The KEMET X8L is available in case sizes EIA 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1210. The KEMET Ultra Stable X8R 150°C Dielectric exhibits no capacitance loss when DC voltage is applied and is available in case sizes EIA 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, and 1812.

Flexible Termination (FT-CAP) MLCCs

KEMET Flexible Termination (FT-CAP) multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) offer a unique, flexible termination system that is integrated with KEMET's standard termination materials. The flexible termination technology combats flex cracking, which is the primary failure mode of MLCCs, and directs board flex stress away from the ceramic body and into the termination area, mitigating flex cracks that can lead to low IR and short circuit failures. This technology also provides superior flex performance (up to 5mm) over standard termination systems. The high-voltage FT-CAP MLCCs provide a voltage range of 500VDC to 3000VDC. The Flex Term X8L MLCCs have a high operating temperature of up to 150°C. Flexible Termination C0G MLCCs offer superior flex performance (up to 5mm), a capacitance range from 0.5pF to 0.47µF, and a voltage range from 10V to 200V.
