Power ICs

Analog Devices Inc. Power ICs provide energy efficiency to extend battery life for wearables and other small, battery-powered devices. Maxim's portfolio of power ICs does not generate a lot of heat, consumes less current, and has a small footprint. The Analog Devices Inc. Power ICs enable a more robust operation and longer battery life in designs.

MAX1836 & MAX1837 Step-Down Converters

Analog Devices MAX1836 and MAX1837 Step-Down Converters are high-efficiency step-down converters that provide a preset output voltage of 3.3V or 5V from supply voltages as high as 24V. By using external feedback resistors, the output voltage can be adjusted from 1.25V to VIN. An internal current-limited switching MOSFET delivers load currents up to 125mA (MAX1836) or 250mA (MAX1837). The unique current-limited control scheme, operating with duty cycles up to 100%, minimizes the dropout voltage (120mV at 100mA). Additionally, this control scheme reduces supply current under light loads to 12µA. High switching frequencies allow the use of tiny surface-mount inductors and output capacitors.

Switching Regulators

Analog Devices Switching Regulators are highly efficient to support longer battery life, generate less heat, and consume less board space compared to other solutions on the market. Analog Devices' broad range of DC-DC switching regulators and controllers support a variety of applications and architectures. This family of highly efficient, synchronous step-up DC-DC controllers operates over a 4.5V to 36V input voltage range, and the input operating range can be extended to as low as 2.5V in bootstrapped mode. Analog Devices' nanoPower DC-DC regulators provide low quiescent current and small solution sizes, extending battery life for small, battery-operated applications.

EE-Sim® Design Generation & Simulation Tool

Analog Devices Inc. EE-Sim® Design Generation and Simulation Tool allows the creation and simulation of circuits online. Based on detailed input requirements, Maxim Integrated EE-Sim tool generates an interactive schematic complete with components that are adjustable. ADI EE-Sim features a highly efficient simulation engine. Each design iteration can be simulated in a few minutes. The resulting waveforms, such as Bode plots and voltage graphs, are available for analysis in the included waveform viewer. EE-Sim also allows users to save or print design requirements, schematic, BOM, and results.

Power Management ICs
